Check for Air Conditioning Problems Today!

Summer starts early in Longwood, FL, and chances are you’ve already been running your air conditioner nonstop. That’s only going to get worse as spring turns to summer, and the last thing you want is a major breakdown in the middle of one of our patented central Florida heat waves. Right now is an excellent time to check for any potential problems, allowing you to get your air conditioner repaired while you still have time. That way, your system will be ready to go when summer officially arrives, and you stand much less of a chance dealing with any nasty surprises when the mercury rises. Here’s a quick breakdown to help you out.

  • Strange Noises. A “strange noise” means any kind of noise you don’t normally associate with your air conditioner. It can include rattles, moans, buzzing sounds, groans, hums or even a quieter sound than you’re used to hearing. Most of them will come from the system itself, but can echo trough the ductwork, and sometimes those sounds come from the ducts themselves.
  • Higher Bills. Not every problem leaves a sign that you can detect, but if it forces your air conditioner to work harder than it should, then you’re going to see signs of it in your monthly bill. If yours spikes for no apparent reason, then you may be looking at a repair issue.
  • Low Air Flow. If there’s a problem with the fan or the fan motor, air won’t flow out of your ducts as swiftly as it needs to. The same thing can happen if there’s a breach in the ducts or a blockage of some sort.
  • Reduced Cooling Power. You’ll probably notice if you turn on your air conditioner and only hot air comes out. But the same issue can produce cooler air… just not as cool as you may be accustomed to. If you think the air is warmer than it should be, turn the system off and call in a repair service.

Downtown Air and Heat is standing by with air conditioner repair services!
